The Crow-and-Swan Exemplum as Counsel to Karṇa
एवं तदभवद् युद्ध त्वदीयानां परै: सह । अपराह्नले महाराज काडृक्षतां विजयं युधि,महाराज! इस प्रकार अपराह्नके समय रणक्षेत्रमें विजय चाहनेवाले आपके योद्धाओंका शत्रुओंके साथ भीषण युद्ध होने लगा

evaṃ tad abhavad yuddhaṃ tvadīyānāṃ paraiḥ saha |
aparāhṇe le mahārāja kāṅkṣatāṃ vijayaṃ yudhi ||
Disse Sañjaya: Assim aconteceu, ó grande rei, que no fim da tarde se ergueu uma batalha feroz entre os teus guerreiros e os seus inimigos. Os teus homens, ansiando pela vitória no combate, avançaram com ímpeto pelo campo de guerra.
