कर्णस्य दानप्रतिज्ञा–शल्योपदेश–वाक्ययुद्धम्

स्वान् स्वे जघ्नुर्महाराज परांश्वैव समागतान्
svān sve jaghnur mahārāja parāṁś caiva samāgatān
Sañjaya disse: Ó grande rei, naquele choque os guerreiros abatiam os seus próprios homens dentro de suas fileiras, e também matavam os combatentes adversários que haviam acorrido para a luta—tamanha era a confusão e a ferocidade do combate.
