प्रेषषामास राजेन्द्र ते5स्या भ्रश्यन्त वर्मण: । राजेन्द्र! फिर सोनेकी पाँखवाले नब्बे पैने बाण उसने चलाये, परंतु वे कृतवर्माके कवचसे फिसलकर गिर गये
sañjaya uvāca | preṣayāmāsa rājendra te ’syā bhraśyanta varmaṇaḥ |
Sañjaya disse: Ó rei, ele disparou aquelas flechas; contudo, elas escorregaram pela armadura e caíram. No aperto da batalha, a perícia do guerreiro encontra a proteção conquistada pela preparação e pela firmeza—de modo que até uma saraivada feroz pode falhar quando enfrenta uma defesa sólida.
