पितामहत्वं सम्प्रेक्ष्य पाण्डुपुत्रा महारणे | रक्षितास्तात भीष्मेण दिवसानि दशैव तु,“तात! भीष्मने पितामहके नातेकी ओर दृष्टिपात करके उस महासमरमें दस दिनोंतक पाण्डवोंकी रक्षा की है

pitāmahatvaṁ samprekṣya pāṇḍuputrā mahāraṇe | rakṣitās tāta bhīṣmeṇa divasāni daśaiva tu ||

Sañjaya disse: “Por consideração ao estatuto de Bhīṣma como o avô venerável, os filhos de Pāṇḍu foram, naquela grande batalha, de fato protegidos por Bhīṣma durante dez dias completos.”
