कर्णसेनापत्यारम्भः — Karṇa’s Appointment and the Report to Dhṛtarāṣṭra
Chapter 1
तथा तु संचिन्तयतां तान् क्लेशान् द्यूतकारितान् | दुःखेन क्षणदा राजन् जगामाब्दशतोपमा,राजन! इस प्रकार पाण्डवोंको जूएके द्वारा प्राप्त कराये गये उन क्लेशोंका चिन्तन करते-करते उनकी वह रात सौ वर्षोके समान बड़े कष्टसे व्यतीत हुई
tathā tu sañcintayatāṃ tān kleśān dyūtakāritān | duḥkhena kṣaṇadā rājan jagāmābdaśatopamā ||
Ó Rei, enquanto continuavam a refletir sobre aquelas aflições causadas pelo jogo de dados, a noite passou em tristeza, parecendo durar cem anos.
