Educational Q&A

The verse underscores the dharmic dimension of collective responsibility in war: renowned allies assemble under a commander, indicating disciplined commitment to a chosen cause and the burdens of kṣatriya-duty when conflict becomes unavoidable.

Sañjaya lists prominent Pāṇḍava-aligned warriors—Sātyaki, Cekitāna, Dhṛṣṭadyumna, Kuntibhoja, and Drupada—marking their presence and readiness as the battle intensifies under Droṇa’s leadership on the opposing side.
