नारायणास्त्र-शमनं द्रौणि-प्रहारश्च

सादी सादिनमासाद्य पत्तयश्न पदातिनम्‌

sādī sādinam āsādya pattayaś ca padātinam

Disse Sañjaya: Tendo-se aproximado do cocheiro e do guerreiro de carro, os soldados a pé também avançaram contra a infantaria. A batalha apertou-se em combate cerrado, onde cada classe de lutador buscou o seu par, revelando a ética sombria da guerra: habilidade contra habilidade, força respondendo à força, enquanto o morticínio se intensificava.
