Chapter 89: Bhīma dispatched to protect Ghaṭotkaca amid escalating engagements
निमेषार्थेन कौन्तेयं भीष्म: शान्तनवो युधि । अदृश्यं समरे चक्रे शरजालेन भागश:
nimeṣārthena kaunteyaṁ bhīṣmaḥ śāntanavo yudhi | adṛśyaṁ samare cakre śarajālena bhāgaśaḥ ||
Disse Sañjaya: No espaço de um simples piscar de olhos, Bhīṣma, filho de Śāntanu, no campo de batalha, fez o filho de Kuntī (Yudhiṣṭhira) desaparecer da vista no combate — cobrindo-o, por assim dizer, com uma rede de flechas lançada em salvas distintas. A cena ressalta a aterradora eficiência da perícia marcial quando empunhada na guerra, em que até o justo pode ser sobrepujado pela pura força e técnica.
