कृतस्वस्त्ययना: सर्वे संस्तूयन्तश्न वन्दिभि: । गीतवादित्रशब्देन व्यक्रीडन्त यशस्विन:
sañjaya uvāca | kṛtasvastyayanāḥ sarve saṃstūyantaś ca vandibhiḥ | gītavāditraśabdena vyakrīḍanta yaśasvinaḥ ||
Sañjaya disse: Depois que, para todos, foram devidamente realizados os ritos auspiciosos e as bênçãos, e enquanto os bardos entoavam seus louvores, aqueles guerreiros afamados entregaram-se ao recreio entre o som dos cantos e dos instrumentos. A cena ressalta um ritmo marcante do acampamento em guerra: mesmo às vésperas da violência, os campos retornam à ordem ritual, à honra pública e ao prazer contido segundo o dharma.
