Adhyāya 86: Irāvān’s Lineage, Cavalry Clash, and the Māyā-Duel Ending in Irāvān’s Fall
तेषां प्रववृते युद्ध सुमहललोमहर्षणम् । इरावांस्तु सुसंक़्रुद्धो भ्रातरी देवरूपिणौ,उन तीनों वीरोंका युद्ध अत्यन्त रोमांचकारी हुआ। इरावानने कुपित होकर देवताओंके समान रूपवान् दोनों भाई विन्द और अनुविन्दको झुकी हुई गाँठवाले तीखे बाणोंसे तुरंत घायल कर दिया। वे भी समरांगणमें विचित्र युद्ध करनेवाले थे। अतः उन्होंने भी इरावान्को बींध डाला
teṣāṃ pravavṛte yuddhaṃ sumahallomaharṣaṇam | irāvāṃs tu susaṃkruddho bhrātarī devarūpiṇau |
Sañjaya disse: “Entre aqueles guerreiros travou-se uma luta extremamente feroz, de arrepiar os cabelos. Irāvān, inflamado de ira, feriu de pronto os dois irmãos Vindā e Anuvindā—belos como deuses—com flechas agudas de nós salientes. Mas os irmãos, hábeis em maravilhosas artes de combate no campo, traspassaram Irāvān em resposta.”
