अध्याय ८० — मध्यंदिन-रणवृत्तान्तः

तत्प्रभग्नं बल॑ दृष्टवा द्रोणेनामिततेजसा । नाशवनुवन् वारयितुं समस्तास्ते महारथा:,अमिततेजस्वी आचार्य द्रोणके द्वारा अपनी सेनाका व्यूह भंग हुआ देख वे सम्पूर्ण महारथी प्रयत्न करनेपर भी उसे रोकनेमें सफल न हो सके
tatprabhagnaṃ balaṃ dṛṣṭvā droṇenāmitatejasā | nāśakan nu vārayituṃ samastās te mahārathāḥ ||
Disse Sañjaya: Vendo sua formação ser despedaçada por Droṇa, de esplendor incomensurável, todos aqueles grandes guerreiros de carro, ainda que agindo em conjunto, não conseguiram detê-lo.
