भीमसेनस्य गदायुद्ध-प्रभावः

The Battlefield Impact of Bhīmasena’s Mace Combat

(ततः सरथनागाश्चा जयं प्राप्प ससोमका: । पज्चाला: पाण्डवाश्रैव प्रणेदुश्चव पुनः पुनः ।। प्रययु: शिबिरायैव धनंजयपुरस्कृता: । वादित्रघोषै: संहृष्टा: प्रनृत्यन्तो महारथा: ।।) तदनन्तर रथ, हाथी और घोड़ोंसहित सोमक, पांचाल तथा पाण्डववीर विजय पाकर बारंबार सिंहनाद करने लगे। वे सभी महारथी विजयसूचक वाद्योंकी ध्वनिके साथ अत्यन्त हर्षमें भरकर नाचने लगे और अर्जुनको आगे करके शिविरकी ओर चल दिये। ततो<वहार: सैन्यानां तव तेषां च भारत । अस्तं गच्छति सूर्येड भूत्‌ संध्याकाले च वर्तति,भारत! इस प्रकार सूर्यके अस्ताचलको चले जानेपर संध्याके समय आपकी और पाण्डवोंकी सेनाएँ लौट आयीं

tataḥ sa-ratha-nāgāś ca jayaṃ prāpya sa-somakāḥ |

pañcālāḥ pāṇḍavāś caiva praṇeduś ca punaḥ punaḥ ||

prayayuḥ śibirāyaiva dhanañjaya-puraskṛtāḥ |

vāditra-ghoṣaiḥ saṃhṛṣṭāḥ pranṛtyanto mahā-rathāḥ ||

tato ’vahāraḥ sainyānāṃ tava teṣāṃ ca bhārata |

astaṃ gacchati sūrye ’bhūt sandhyā-kāle ca vartati ||

Disse Sañjaya: Então os Somakas, juntamente com os Pañcālas e os Pāṇḍavas—com seus carros, elefantes e cavalos—tendo alcançado a vitória, soltaram repetidas vezes brados de triunfo. Com Arjuna à frente, aqueles grandes guerreiros seguiram para o acampamento; exultantes ao som retumbante dos instrumentos de vitória, chegaram até a dançar de alegria. Depois disso, ó Bhārata, quando o sol se pôs e chegou o crepúsculo, tanto o teu exército quanto o deles se retiraram do campo de batalha.
