खड्गेन शितधारेण संयुगे गजयोधिनाम्‌ | पदातिरेक: संक्रुद्धः शत्रूणां भयवर्धन:

Transliteration

khaḍgena śitadhāreṇa saṁyuge gajayodhinām | padātirekaḥ saṁkruddhaḥ śatrūṇāṁ bhayavardhanaḥ ||

Translation

Disse Sañjaya: No aperto do combate contra os guerreiros de elefante, um soldado a pé, enfurecido, empunhando uma espada afiada, de fio como navalha, tornou-se fonte de terror crescente para o inimigo. O verso destaca como, na guerra, a determinação e a perícia podem tornar formidável até mesmo um homem a pé diante de forças aparentemente superiores.
