शक्ति विनिहतां दृष्टवा धृष्टद्युम्न: प्रतापवान् । ववर्ष शरवर्षाणि द्रोणं प्रति जनेश्वर,जनेश्वर! अपनी शक्तिको नष्ट हुई देख प्रतापी धृष्टद्युम्नने द्रोणाचार्यपर पुनः बाणोंकी वर्षा आस्मभ कर दी
sañjaya uvāca | śaktiṁ vinihatāṁ dṛṣṭvā dhṛṣṭadyumnaḥ pratāpavān | vavarṣa śaravarṣāṇi droṇaṁ prati janeśvara ||
Disse Sañjaya: Ao ver sua arma de lança (śakti) tornada inútil, o valente Dhrishtadyumna, ó senhor dos homens, derramou de novo uma tempestade de flechas contra Droṇa—impelido por firme resolução e pelo ímpeto implacável da batalha.
