चेकितानो<पि संरब्ध: सुशर्माणं महाहवे | प्राच्छादयत् तमिषुभिर्महामेघ इवाचलम्
Cekitāno 'pi saṃrabdhaḥ Suśarmāṇaṃ mahāhave | prācchādayat tam iṣubhir mahāmegha ivācalam ||
Sañjaya disse: Também Cekitāna, inflamado de ira, naquela grande batalha cobriu Suśarmā com uma densa chuva de flechas, como uma nuvem poderosa vela uma montanha com seu aguaceiro.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma in wartime: courage and decisive action are expected, yet the imagery also suggests that anger, when harnessed to duty, becomes a forceful but purposeful instrument rather than mere cruelty.
Cekitāna, stirred to anger, attacks Suśarmā in the thick of battle and overwhelms him with a barrage of arrows, likened to a rain-cloud covering a mountain with heavy rainfall.
