विराटो भगदत्तं तु शरवर्षेण भारत । अभ्यवर्षत् सुसंक्रुद्धो मेघो वृष्ट्या इवाचलम्,भारत! विराटने अत्यन्त कुपित होकर भगदत्तपर अपने बाणोंकी वर्षा आरम्भ कर दी, मानो मेघ पर्वतपर जलकी बूँदें बरसा रहा हो

virāṭo bhagadattaṃ tu śaravarṣeṇa bhārata |
abhyavarṣat susaṃkruddho megho vṛṣṭyā ivācalam ||
Disse Sañjaya: Ó Bhārata, Virāṭa, inflamado de ira, cobriu Bhagadatta com uma chuva de flechas—como uma nuvem derramando sua água sobre uma montanha. A cólera está presente, mas se expressa em ação marcial disciplinada, enquanto os guerreiros cumprem o dever da guerra.
