Droṇa–Dhṛṣṭadyumna-yuddha (द्रोण-धृष्टद्युम्न-युद्धम्) — Tactical duel and allied interventions
तयोस्तदभवद् युद्ध॑ं घोररूप॑ विशाम्पते । दृप्तयो: समरे पूर्व वृत्रवासवयोरिव,राजन्! उस समरभूमिमें इन्द्र और वृत्रासुरकी भाँति उन दोनों अभिमानी वीरोंमें बड़ा भयंकर युद्ध हुआ
tayos tad abhavad yuddhaṁ ghorarūpaṁ viśāṁpate | dṛptayoḥ samare pūrvaṁ vṛtrāvāsavayor iva ||
Disse Sañjaya: Ó senhor dos homens, entre aqueles dois guerreiros orgulhosos ergueu-se então uma batalha de aspecto terrível—como o antigo combate no campo entre Indra (Vāsava) e Vṛtra.
