Karma-Yoga, Yajña-Cakra, and the Governance of Desire (कर्मयोग–यज्ञचक्र–कामनिग्रह)
भवान् भीष्मश्न कर्णश्र कृपश्च समितिंजय: । अश्रृत्थामा विकर्णश्ष॒ सौमदत्तिस्तथैव च
bhavān droṇaś ca bhīṣmaś ca karṇaś ca kṛpaḥ samitiṃjayaḥ | aśvatthāmā vikarṇaś ca saumadattis tathaiva ca ||
Sañjaya disse: “Vós—Droṇa, e o venerando avô Bhīṣma, e Karṇa, e Kṛpa, conquistador no campo de batalha; do mesmo modo Aśvatthāmā, Vikarṇa e também o filho de Somadatta—todos estais presentes.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how the war draws in venerable elders and exemplary warriors, suggesting the moral weight of conflict when dharma is disputed among those who outwardly uphold duty and tradition.
