निपातयत गृह्नीत युध्यध्वमवकृन्तत । इत्यासीत् तुमुलः शब्दो राजन् भीष्मरथं प्रति,राजन्! उस समय भीष्मके रथके समीप “मार गिराओ, पकड़ लो, युद्ध करो, टुकड़े- टुकड़े कर डालो” इत्यादि भयंकर शब्द गूँज रहे थे
nipātayata gṛhṇīta yudhyadhvam avakṛntata | ity āsīt tumulaḥ śabdo rājan bhīṣma-rathaṃ prati ||
Disse Sañjaya: “Derrubai-o! Agarrai-o! Lutai! Fendei-o em pedaços!”—tais brados, tumultuosos e terríveis, ressoavam, ó Rei, em torno do carro de Bhīṣma.
