जग्मुस्ते परलोकाय व्यादितास्यमिवान्तकम् | वे युद्धसे पीठ न दिखानेवाले, शौर्यसम्पन्न तथा सुवर्णमय ध्वज धारण करनेवाले थे। वे सब-के-सब युद्धमें मुँह फैलाये हुए कालके समान भीष्मके पास पहुँचकर घोड़े, रथ और हाथियोंसहित परलोकके पथिक हो गये

Disse Sañjaya: Aqueles guerreiros foram para o mundo além, como se entrassem na própria Morte de boca escancarada. Inflexíveis na batalha—sem jamais mostrar as costas—dotados de bravura e portando estandartes dourados, avançaram contra Bhīṣma; e, junto com seus cavalos, carros e elefantes, tornaram-se viajantes na estrada para a outra vida.
संजय उवाच
Even the bravest warriors—steadfast and disciplined—remain subject to death; war tests dharma and courage, yet culminates in impermanence, reminding the listener that martial glory cannot override the moral and existential cost of violence.
Sañjaya describes a group of valiant fighters advancing toward Bhīṣma with unwavering resolve and splendid standards; confronting him proves fatal, and they fall in battle along with their mounts and war-vehicles, metaphorically entering Death itself.
