ध्येयात्मना हरिष्यामि यज्ञानेतान् यतव्रत: । “यदि इन्द्र बारह वर्षोतक वर्षा नहीं करेंगे तो मैं व्रत-नियमोंका पालन करता हुआ ध्यानद्वारा ध्येयरूपसे स्थित हो इन यज्ञोंका अनुष्ठान करूँगा
dhyeyātmanā hariṣyāmi yajñān etān yatavrataḥ | yadi indraḥ dvādaśa-varṣāntakaṁ varṣāṁ na kariṣyati, tato ’haṁ vrata-niyamān pālayan dhyānena dhyeya-rūpeṇa sthitaḥ san etān yajñān anuṣṭhāsyāmi ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: “Com a mente fixa no objeto da meditação e firme em meus votos, levarei estes sacrifícios até o fim. Se Indra não enviar chuva por doze anos, mantendo minhas disciplinas, permanecerei estabelecido em concentração e ainda assim cumprirei estes ritos.”
