कच्चिच्छौरे त्वया गत्वा कुरुपाण्डवसझ तत् | कृतं॑ सौश्रात्रमचलं तन्मे व्याख्यातुमहसि
kaccic chauri tvayā gatvā kuru-pāṇḍava-saṅghaṁ tat | kṛtaṁ sauśrātram acalaṁ tan me vyākhyātum arhasi ||
Disse Vaiśampāyana: “Ó Śauri, depois de ires àquela assembleia dos Kurus e dos Pāṇḍavas, conseguiste estabelecer entre eles um vínculo de fraternidade firme e inabalável? Explica-me isso em detalhe.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse foregrounds dharma as social repair: after conflict, the highest ethical task is to restore stable kinship and unity (acala sauśrātra) among related houses, not merely to end hostilities outwardly.
Vaiśampāyana questions Śauri (Kṛṣṇa) about his visit to the Kurus and Pāṇḍavas, asking whether he has successfully established firm brotherly concord among them, and requests a detailed account.
