Kṛṣṇa’s Departure, Auspicious Omens, and the Opening of the Uttaṅka Dialogue (कृष्णप्रयाण-निमित्त-उत्तङ्कसंवाद-प्रारम्भः)
तथैव चानुयात्रादि चोदयामास पाण्डव: । सज्जयध्वं प्रयास्थामो नगरं गजसाह्वयम्,इसी प्रकार अर्जुनने भी अपने सेवकोंको आदेश दिया कि “सब लोग रथको सुसज्जित करो। अब हमें हस्तिनापुरकी यात्रा करनी है”
Vaiśampāyana uvāca | tathaiva cānuyātrādi codayāmāsa pāṇḍavaḥ | sajjayadhvaṃ prayāsthāmo nagaraṃ gajasāhvayam ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: Do mesmo modo, o Pāṇḍava (Arjuna) também deu instruções para os preparativos da continuação da jornada, dizendo: “Deixem tudo pronto; partamos agora para a cidade chamada Gajasāhvaya (Hastināpura).”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights responsible leadership and dharmic order: before undertaking a significant movement—especially in a royal context—one should ensure proper preparation, coordination, and readiness of one’s retinue and resources.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Arjuna, like others before him, instructs his attendants to make the necessary travel preparations and declares that they will now depart for Hastināpura, here referred to by its epithet Gajasāhvaya.
