Adhyāya 51: Kṛṣṇa’s Leave-Taking and Departure for Dvārakā (द्वारकागमनानुमति)
मया तु भरतश्रेष्ठ चिरदृष्ट: पिता प्रभु: । तमहं द्रष्टमेच्छामि सम्मते तव फाल्गुन
mayā tu bharataśreṣṭha ciradṛṣṭaḥ pitā prabhuḥ | tam ahaṃ draṣṭum icchāmi sammate tava phālguna ||
Disse Vāyu: “Ó melhor dos Bhāratas, há muito tempo não vejo meu venerável pai, meu senhor. Desejo vê-lo. Se for de teu agrado, ó Phālguna (Arjuna), irei a Dvārakā para obter o seu darśana.”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights reverence toward one’s father/elder and the ethical propriety of seeking a trusted person’s consent before undertaking an important journey—desire is guided by respect, consultation, and right intention.
Vāyudeva addresses Arjuna respectfully, saying he has not seen his father for a long time and wishes to meet him; he asks whether Arjuna agrees to his going to Dvārakā for that purpose.
