Kṛṣṇa–Arjuna Saṃvāda in Indraprastha: Consolation, Legitimation, and Leave for Dvārakā (आश्वमेधिकपर्व, अध्याय १५)

The verse models dharmic conduct in relationships: even while enjoying an honored stay in a splendid, ‘heaven-like’ place, one should not neglect obligations of kinship and reverence. The speaker frames his departure as a respectful request, reminding that ethical life includes timely return to one’s family and community, expressed with courtesy and gratitude.
Vāyudeva addresses a Kuru prince, praising the purity and delight of the assembly precincts where they have stayed together for many days. He explains that he has been unable to meet his father Vasudeva and his brother Baladeva, as well as other leading Vṛṣṇis, and therefore asks permission/approval to depart for Dvārakā.
