The verse highlights that a ruler’s actions and transitions are not merely private; they reverberate through the whole community. Kingship carries a dharmic obligation toward the prajā, and public life gathers around moments of political and moral consequence.
A large assembly of people and royal establishments is present. Dhṛtarāṣṭra emerges from the inner palace and hears that the entire population of the city and surrounding districts has gathered, indicating a significant public moment in the unfolding events of the Āśramavāsika narrative.
