Hearing a morally purifying, sin-destroying teaching and associating with noble persons (udāra-jana) loosens the 'knot of the heart'—deep doubt, inner blockage, and confusion—leading to a fuller grasp and attainment of dharma.
Āstīka addresses the listener, affirming that by hearing the purifying account and by encountering high-souled, generous-hearted people, the listener has gained expansive dharma and has been freed from inner doubt (the hṛdaya-granthi).
