Educational Q&A

The chapter-ending notice highlights a moral pivot characteristic of Āśramavāsika: after the devastation of war, the elders’ response is prayer and inward reckoning. It frames ethical closure—acceptance of consequences, humility, and the search for spiritual resolution rather than political victory.

This is a colophon-style conclusion stating that the twenty-ninth chapter has ended. It specifies the textual location (Āśramavāsika Parva, within Putradarśana Parva) and notes that the chapter’s subject concerned the prayers offered by Dhṛtarāṣṭra and others.
