अध्याय १५ (Āśramavāsika-parva): धृतराष्ट्रस्य वनवासानुज्ञायाचनम् — Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s renewed plea for consent to forest-dwelling
इति बाष्पकला वाच: कुन्ती पुत्रस्य शृण्वती | सा जगामाश्रुपूर्णाक्षी भीमस्तामिदमब्रवीत्
iti bāṣpakalā vācaḥ kuntī putrasya śṛṇvatī | sā jagāmāśrupūrṇākṣī bhīmas tām idam abravīt |
Vaiśampāyana disse: Ao ouvir as palavras de seu filho, partidas e turvadas pelas lágrimas, os olhos de Kuntī se encheram de pranto. Ainda assim, ela não parou; continuou a avançar. Então Bhīmasena lhe disse estas palavras—
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights steadfastness amid grief: even when overwhelmed by sorrow, Kuntī continues forward, suggesting resolve in following a chosen dharmic course (here, the difficult path of withdrawal/renunciation), while loved ones respond with concern and counsel.
Kuntī hears her son’s tear-choked words; her own eyes fill with tears, but she does not halt and keeps going. Seeing this, Bhīma speaks to her, setting up the next lines of dialogue.
