Śrāddha-Kalpa: Pitṛ-Pūjā and Tithi-Phala (श्राद्धकल्पः पितृपूजा च तिथिफलम्)

रुद्रस्तु तेजो5प्रतिमं धारयामास वै तदा । प्रस्कन्नं तु ततस्तस्मात्‌ किंचित्तत्रापतद्‌ भुवि,रुद्रदेवने उस समय अपने अनुपम तेज (वीर्य) को यद्यपि रोक लिया था; तो भी किंचित्‌ स्खलित होकर वहीं पृथ्वीपर गिर पड़ा

rudras tu tejo 'pratimaṃ dhārayāmāsa vai tadā | praskannaṃ tu tatas tasmāt kiñcit tatrāpatad bhuvi ||

Bhīṣma disse: “Naquele tempo, Rudra de fato conteve sua potência ígnea incomparável; ainda assim, uma pequena porção lhe escapou e caiu ali mesmo sobre a terra.”
