Śrāddha-Kalpa: Pitṛ-Pūjā and Tithi-Phala (श्राद्धकल्पः पितृपूजा च तिथिफलम्)

ऋषय ऊचुर गाश्व भूमिं च वित्त च दत्त्वेह भूगुनन्दन । पापकृत्‌ पूयते मर्त्य इति भार्गव शुश्रुम,ऋषियोंने कहा--भृगुनन्दन! हमने सुना है कि पाप करनेवाला मनुष्य यहाँ गाय, भूमि और धनका दान करके पवित्र हो जाता है

ṛṣaya ūcuḥ—gāṃ aśvaṃ bhūmiṃ ca vittaṃ ca dattvaiha bhṛgunandana | pāpakṛt pūyate martya iti bhārgava śuśruma ||

Os sábios disseram: “Ó deleite dos Bhṛgus, ó Bhārgava, ouvimos que um mortal que cometeu pecado se purifica aqui, neste mundo, ao dar em caridade uma vaca, um cavalo, terras e riquezas.”
