Brahmā–Indra–Surabhi Itihāsa
पाण्डुकम्बलवर्णाभां सवत्सां कांस्यदोहनाम् । प्रदाय वस्त्रसंवीतां साध्यानां लोकमाप्नुते
pāṇḍukambalavarṇābhāṃ savatsāṃ kāṃsyadohanām | pradāya vastrasaṃvītāṃ sādhyānāṃ lokam āpnute ||
Disse Vasiṣṭha: Quem doa uma vaca de tonalidade pálida, semelhante à de uma manta, juntamente com seu bezerro, cobrindo-a com tecido e oferecendo um vaso de bronze para a ordenha, alcança o mundo dos Sādhyas.

That dāna should be complete and dignified: giving a useful, well-provided gift (a cow with her calf, properly covered, with the needed milking vessel) yields great religious merit and leads to an exalted heavenly realm (the world of the Sādhyas).
