Karma-Phala Rahasya and the Ethics of Dāna (कर्मफल-रहस्यं दानधर्मश्च)
इत्येतदृषिणा प्रोक्तमुक्तवानस्मि यद् विभो । शुभाशुभफलप्राप्ती किमत: श्रोतुमिच्छसि
ity etad ṛṣiṇā proktam uktavān asmi yad vibho | śubhāśubha-phala-prāptī kim ataḥ śrotum icchasi ||
Bhīṣma disse: “Assim te declarei o que foi dito pelo sábio, ó poderoso. Quanto à obtenção de frutos auspiciosos e inauspiciosos, que mais desejas ouvir?”
भीष्म उवाच
