Bhūmi-dānasya Māhātmya
The Pre-eminence of Land-Gift
यस्य वै शैशिरे काले तडागे सलिलं भवेत् । तस्याग्निष्टोमयज्ञस्यथ फलमाहुर्मनीषिण:
yasya vai śaiśire kāle taḍāge salilaṁ bhavet | tasyāgniṣṭomayajñasya tathā phalam āhur manīṣiṇaḥ ||
Bhishma disse: “Se o lago de uma pessoa conserva água durante toda a estação do inverno, os sábios declaram que tal feito produz mérito igual ao do sacrifício Agniṣṭoma. Neste ensinamento, sustentar água para os outros é exaltado como um ato de dharma e de bem público, equiparado a grande mérito ritual por sustentar a vida e a comunidade.”
