Cyavana Explains His Tests; Kuśika Seeks Brāhmaṇya for His Line (च्यवन–कुशिक संवादः)
यदि राज्यं यदि धनं यदि गा: संशितव्रत । यज्ञदानानि च तथा ब्रहि सर्व ददामि ते
yadi rājyaṃ yadi dhanaṃ yadi gāḥ saṃśitavrata | yajñadānāni ca tathā brūhi sarvaṃ dadāmi te ||
Bhīṣma disse: “Ó sábio de votos firmes e austeros, se é um reino, se é riqueza, se é gado, ou também dádivas destinadas ao sacrifício—dize-me. Eu te darei tudo. Esta residência real, este domínio e este trono de soberania conforme ao dharma são teus. Tu és o rei—protege esta terra. Quanto a mim, permanecerei sempre como servo, obediente ao teu comando.”
