Bhīṣma frames a dharma-oriented taxonomy of birth from mixed unions: he notes six ‘apadhvaṃsaja’ types already identified in the discussion and then transitions to ‘apasada’ (reverse-order) offspring, emphasizing social-ethical categorization as part of normative instruction.
In his instruction to Yudhiṣṭhira, Bhīṣma summarizes that the six mixed-union categories have been pointed out in this section and announces the next topic: the description of ‘apasada’ (pratiloma) offspring.
