एवमेव मनुष्येन्द्र भक्तिमन्तं समाश्रित: । सर्वार्थसिद्धि लभते शुकं प्राप्य यथा द्रुम:,नरेन्द्र! जैसे भक्तिमान्‌ू शुकका सहवास पाकर उस वृक्षने सम्पूर्ण मनोरथोंकी सिद्धि प्राप्त कर ली, उसी प्रकार अपनेमें भक्ति रखनेवाले पुरुषका सहारा पाकर प्रत्येक मनुष्य अपनी सम्पूर्ण कामनाएँ सिद्ध कर लेता है

evam eva manuṣyendra bhaktimantaṁ samāśritaḥ | sarvārthasiddhiṁ labhate śukaṁ prāpya yathā drumaḥ ||

Bhīṣma disse: “Assim também, ó melhor dos homens: quem se refugia numa pessoa verdadeiramente devota alcança a realização de todos os fins—tal como uma árvore que, ao obter a companhia do papagaio Śuka, chegou ao completo cumprimento de seus desejos. Do mesmo modo, apoiando-se em alguém dotado de bhakti, o homem pode levar suas aspirações ao êxito.”
