Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities
इयं गज्नेति नियतं प्रतिष्ठा गुहस्य रुक्मस्य च गर्भयोषा । प्रातस्त्रिवर्गा घृतवहा विपाष्मा गड़ावतीर्णा वियतो विश्वतोया
iyaṃ gaṅgeti niyataṃ pratiṣṭhā guhasya rukmasya ca garbhayoṣā | prātas trivargā ghṛtavahā vipāśmā gaṅgāvatīrṇā viyato viśvatoyā ||
Aquele que, com certeza, diz: “Esta é a Gaṅgā”, e permite que outros a contemplem, alcança o refúgio assegurado e infalível da bem-aventurada Bhāgīrathī. Ela é o rio sagrado que traz em seu seio o divino Skanda (Guha) e também o ouro; verte correntes puras, nutritivas como ghee, e remove o pecado. Descendo do céu à terra, suas águas são dignas de serem bebidas por todo o mundo. Banhar-se nela ao alvorecer traz êxito nos três fins da vida—dharma, artha e kāma.
