Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic humility and gratitude: reverence for the wise should be steady and sincere, not merely performative or dependent on their physical presence. Continuing praise and salutations even after the sages are no longer visible models enduring respect for spiritual authority and benefactors.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that the Pāṇḍavas repeatedly praise and bow to the great sages. Even after those munis disappear from sight, the Pāṇḍavas continue offering stuti and praṇāma, emphasizing their devotion and disciplined conduct.
