Tīrtha-vaṃśa Upadeśa: Instruction on the Fruits of Sacred Waters
क्रियमाणे5पवर्गे च यो द्विजो भरतर्षभ । न व्याहरति यद्युक्त तस्याधर्मो गवानृतम्
kriyamāṇe ’pavarge ca yo dvijo bharatarṣabha | na vyāharati yadyuktaṃ tasyādharmo gavānṛtam ||
Bhīṣma disse: “Ó touro entre os Bharatas, se, quando se realiza um rito destinado a assegurar o ‘apavarga’ (a libertação), um duas-vezes-nascido não profere o que é próprio e prescrito, essa omissão torna-se para ele adharma — uma falsidade tão grave quanto mentir a respeito de uma vaca.”
