Bhīṣma disse: “Ó Bhārata, aqueles que, quando solicitados, concedem moradias, campos e lugares de habitação conforme o que os suplicantes pedem—tais doadores alcançam o céu.”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse teaches that dharmic giving includes providing foundational resources for life—homes, land, and settlements—especially when granted in line with a genuine request; such responsive generosity is said to lead to heavenly merit.
In the Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma instructs Yudhiṣṭhira on dharma, particularly the fruits of various forms of dāna (charitable gifts). Here he commends donors who fulfill petitioners’ requests for housing and land, declaring their reward as attainment of heaven.
