The verse highlights ethical conduct through gratitude and humility: one should acknowledge beneficence (prasāda), recognize speech and action that are ‘befitting’ (sadṛśa) of a noble person, and proceed in life by honoring the instructions of realized sages.
Bhīṣma expresses satisfaction and offers a blessing to the addressed patron/king (dhanādhipa). The narrative then notes that the revered Aṣṭāvakra turns toward the northern direction and departs, indicating the conclusion of an exchange and the continuation of a sage’s journey.
