रुद्र-स्तवराजः (Rudra-Stavarāja) — Exempla of Śiva’s Boons and the Hymn’s Phalaśruti
एवमन्ये विकुर्वन्ति देवा: संसारमोचनम् । मनुष्याणामृते देवं नान्या शक्तिस्तपोबलम्
evam anye vikurvanti devāḥ saṃsāramocanam | manuṣyāṇām ṛte devaṃ nānyā śaktis tapobalam ||
Disse Vāyu: “Deste mesmo modo, também os outros deuses se libertam do cativeiro da existência mundana — louvando o Senhor. Para os seres humanos, fora de tomar refúgio no Divino (Mahādeva), não há outro poder, nem força nascida da austeridade, pela qual se possa alcançar a libertação do saṃsāra.”
वायुदेव उवाच
Liberation from saṃsāra is presented as attainable through devotion—specifically praise and refuge in Mahādeva—rather than relying solely on one’s independent power or even the merit of austerities.
Vāyu speaks about the practice of the gods themselves: they overcome worldly bondage by praising the Lord, and he extends the point to humans, asserting that no alternative force or tapas can grant the same release without taking refuge in Mahādeva.
