सत्कर्ता कुरुवृद्धानां पितृभक्तो महाव्रत: । जामदग्न्येन रामेण य: पुरा न पराजित:
satkartā kuruvṛddhānāṁ pitṛbhakto mahāvrataḥ | jāmadagnyena rāmeṇa yaḥ purā na parājitaḥ ||
Disse Vaiśampāyana: “Ele honrava devidamente os anciãos da linhagem dos Kuru, era firme na devoção aos antepassados e constante em grandes votos. Em tempos antigos, não foi vencido nem mesmo por Rāma Jāmadagnya (Paraśurāma).”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
