संधानस्य पर: कालस्तवेति च पुन: पुनः । न च मे तद् वचो मूढ: कृतवान् स सुमन्दधी: । घातयित्वेह पृथिवीं ततः स निधनं गत:
sandhānasya paraḥ kālas taveti ca punaḥ punaḥ | na ca me tad vaco mūḍhaḥ kṛtavān sa sumandadhīḥ | ghātayitveha pṛthivīṃ tataḥ sa nidhanaṃ gataḥ ||
Bhīṣma disse: “Repetidas vezes eu lhe disse: ‘Para ti chegou agora o tempo próprio da reconciliação.’ Contudo, aquele homem iludido, de entendimento paupérrimo, não seguiu meu conselho. Depois de fazer esta terra cair em grande mortandade, foi então à sua própria destruição.”
