Anuśāsana-parva 17

दम्भो हादम्भो वैदम्भो वश्यो वशकर: कलि: । लोककर्ता पशुपतिर्महाकर्ता हनौषध:

vāyudeva uvāca | dambho ’dambho vaidambho vaśyo vaśakaraḥ kaliḥ | lokakartā paśupatiḥ mahākartā anauṣadhaḥ ||

Vāyu disse: Ele é o subjugador dos inimigos e, ainda assim, livre de ostentação; o amigo íntimo dos despretensiosos; Aquele que se torna sujeito aos seus devotos e Aquele que tem o poder de submeter os outros. Ele é o Tempo como a era de Kali; o Fazedor dos mundos; Paśupati, Senhor das criaturas; o Grande Criador que molda os elementos e toda a criação; e Aquele que está além de toda dependência de alimento e de ervas medicinais.
