Reverent remembrance—through reciting revered names and offering salutations—cultivates specific virtues and protections: dharma through the Bhṛgus, vigor through honoring Vasiṣṭha, martial success through homage to Raghu, and freedom from disease through invoking the Aśvins.
In Bhīṣma’s instruction (anuśāsana), he lists exemplary figures—sage-lineages, a royal ideal, and divine physicians—and states the fruits (phala) gained by honoring them, presenting a practical ethic of devotion and emulation.
