विस्तार: स्थावरस्थाणु: प्रमाणं बीजमव्ययम् । अर्थोडनर्थो महाकोशो महाभोगो महाधन:
vistāraḥ sthāvarasthāṇuḥ pramāṇaṃ bījam avyayam | artho 'nartho mahākośo mahābhogo mahādhanaḥ ||
Disse Bhīṣma: Ele é a vastidão que tudo permeia—o suporte permanente de tudo quanto é fixo e imóvel; Ele é o próprio padrão do conhecimento e a semente-causa imperecível do mundo. Ele é o bem buscado (por ser a forma da bem-aventurança) e, ao mesmo tempo, o ‘sem necessidade’ (por ser plenamente completo). Ele é o possuidor do grande tesouro, o desfrutador do mais alto deleite verdadeiro e a própria riqueza suprema.

The verse teaches that the ultimate foundation of the world and of all values—knowledge, prosperity, and enjoyment—is the self-sufficient divine reality.
