धर्मनिन्दा–धर्मोपासनाफलम् तथा साध्वाचारलक्षणम्

संहिताध्यायिना भाव्य॑ गृहे वै गृहमेधिना । नित्यं स्वाध्यायिना भाव्यं न चाध्ययनजीविना

Transliteration

saṃhitādhyāyinā bhāvyaṃ gṛhe vai gṛhamedhinā | nityaṃ svādhyāyinā bhāvyaṃ na ca adhyayanajīvinā ||

Translation

Maheshvara disse: “O chefe de família, vivendo em seu lar, deve ser alguém que estuda as Saṃhitā e mantém disciplina no aprendizado. Deve dedicar-se ao autoestudo diário, mas não deve fazer do estudo um simples meio de sustento.”
