तस्या वत्समुखोत्सृष्ट: फेनो मद्गात्रमागतः । ततो दग्धा मया गावो नानावर्णत्वमागता:
tasyā vatsamukhotsṛṣṭaḥ pheno madgātram āgataḥ | tato dagdhā mayā gāvo nānāvārṇatvam āgatāḥ ||
Mahādeva disse: “Daquela vaca, a espuma que saíra da boca de seu bezerro caiu sobre o meu corpo. Enfurecido por isso, comecei a afligir as vacas com calor; chamuscadas pela minha ira, as vacas passaram a ter muitas cores diferentes.”
